MS Midnatsol (Midnight Sun) bears the dual roles of mail ship and cruise-liner as it travels the coastline of Norway from Bergen, a city of 400,000 in the south, to Kirkenes, a town of 4,000 in the north. It passes pristine fjords, coastal mountains and glacial peaks in a beautiful and dangerous trek performed in total darkness or total sun, depending on the time of year.
